Sad poems from a strange artist

Crystal Flowers: Poems and a Libretto, Florine Stettheimer

A strange little collection of parlor poems by the shy painter Florine Stettheimer. Florine made extraordinary dreamlike paintings, though rarely showed them. She never published her poems, and it was only after her death that her sister, Ettie Stettheimer, compiled and published this slim volume. The poems range from childlike to obtuse, and occasionally, like We Flirted, very sad.
