This altarpiece for the Convent of San Domenico in Fiesole Italy was one of Fra Angelico’s earliest works. The perspective is less refined than in Angelico’s later work, and features a Maestà, a ‘Madonna enthroned’ at the center, with the young Christ ringed-round by angels and flanked by the saints Thomas of Aquino, Barnabas, Dominic and Peter of Verona.
